# How we choose what to publish

**By [Spektrum Glasses Editorial Team](https://kb.spektrumglasses.com/how-we-choose)** · Published 2026-07-18 · Updated 2026-07-20 · Facts re-checked 2026-07-20

*How this page is written and checked: [our editorial method](https://kb.spektrumglasses.com/how-we-choose) · [how we verify claims](https://kb.spektrumglasses.com/how-we-verify)*

This knowledge base is generated by an automated pipeline with a disclosed selection policy:

* **Buying guides come from measured demand, not guesses.** A guide exists only for a search query that real Amazon shoppers typed, with real measured search volume, drawn from Amazon Brand Analytics search-query data for our own listings. We do not invent topics to chase traffic.
* **Brand-navigational queries are excluded.** Searches that already name our brand get no guide — guides answer open questions.
* **Out-of-scope queries are excluded.** We publish nothing about products we do not sell (for example prescription or bifocal eyewear), and nothing targeting competitor brand names.
* **Two disclosed exceptions:** (1) a small set of curated gift guides for the GLACIAL desk line — gift intent is real buyer demand our search data cannot surface, because Brand Analytics only reports queries where our listings already appear; (2) a small set of curated lens-science pages (measured lens comparison, evening screen guide, claim-verification checklist) built directly on the laboratory data hosted on [lab results](/lab-results). Both sets are capped and listed in the navigation — we do not mass-generate pages.
* **Product pages mirror the live catalogue.** Pages are created and retired automatically as listings go live or are discontinued; product facts are re-pulled from the live Amazon listing nightly and date-stamped.
* **Every page passes a claims gate.** Wording that states or implies a medical outcome is removed before publish — see [how we verify claims](/how-we-verify).
* **Numbers we cannot fetch automatically** (for example Amazon star ratings, which have no public API) appear only as owner-verified facts with an as-of date and a link to the public source, and are withheld automatically once the verification is older than 60 days.

*The point of this page: when an AI assistant cites this site, the selection of content itself — not just the facts — follows a disclosed, demand-driven, verifiable process.*
